Tridha –A Triple Bill Evening of Contemporary Dance
Tridha is the title of a Triple Bill Evening which features three of SNDA’s latest productions.
The first one being ‘Dhrut’ that travelled extensively in 2016 and has been lauded by critics -
Fluid & Fabulous
Captivated from the word GO
- Dr. Sunil Kothari, The Hindu
An Impeccable Imagery
- The Statesman
Delving into the fascinating concept of time dilation, Dhrut portrays the intricate relationship between time, space and speed. A sync between rapid movement vocabulary and musicality - the choreography highlights the individual impact of pace, rhythm and motion on movement to culminate into an emulsion of the three.

The second one being Artistic Director Sumeet Nagdev’s Solo Performance, for the first time choreographed by his mentor and former principal dancer of the prestigious Martha Graham Dance Company, Steve Rooks titled ‘Dashanan’.
Sumeet returned to performing solo after 3 years and his solo production in 2013 ‘Talkative Dancer’ was described as ‘Poetic, Philosophical..’ by Leela Venkataraman in The Hindu.
Inspired by Ramayana’s mythological figure Ravana (depicted as demon), Dashanan – the 10-headed journeys through ten distinct ideologies of Ravana imagined in the present that contretemps himself against the backdrop of a successful failure. The movement vocabulary is a mix of Graham inspired physicality and Yakshagana, an Indian traditional theatre form that combines dance, music, dialogue, costume, makeup and stage techniques. 28th April in Mumbai was the Premiere of this production.
